Stephen Pierotti, MD

Stephen Pierotti, MD

Dr. Pierotti is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in general orthopaedics with emphasis in joint replacement of the hip and knee, fracture care, hand, wrist, and shoulder. He joined Dubuque Orthopaedic Surgeons, PC in 1994. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Iowa and completed his residency at Ohio State. He enjoys a general orthopaedic practice which allows him to see patients of all ages and treat a variety of joint problems.

​He was raised in Dubuque, IA and is proud to provide care to the community. Outside of work he enjoys traveling, bicycling, and spending time with his family.

Ryan Cloos, DO

Ryan Cloos, DO

Dr. Cloos is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon. He joined Dubuque Orthopaedic Surgeons in August 2010. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University and completed his residency at Midwestern University in Chicago. He thoroughly enjoys seeing his patients get back to the activity level they desire.

​He was raised in Springbrook, IA and makes Dubuque his home. In his free time, he enjoys watching his two children in activities, staying physically active, hunting, gardening, and traveling with his wife.

Bryan Trumm, MD

Bryan Trumm, MD

Dr. Trumm is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon. He joined Dubuque Orthopaedic Surgeons in August 2018. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Iowa and completed his residency at the University of Minnesota. He specializes in general orthopaedics with emphasis in anterior hip replacement, unicompartmental knee replacement, and reverse shoulder replacement.

​He is a native of Cascade, IA. When he is not seeing patients, he enjoys family activities with his wife and three children, playing golf, working out, traveling, and exploring new places.

As of June of 2023, Dubuque Orthopaedic Surgeons, PC is pleased to announce the addition of John Burgmeier, Physician Assistant. He joins our growing Orthopedic team at Dubuque Orthopaedic Surgeons and will be working alongside Stephen Pierotti, MD, Ryan Cloos, DO, and Bryan Trumm, MD.

"We are pleased to welcome John Burgmeier to practice with us," said Stephen Pierotti, MD. "His expertise will assist in our mission of offering quality healthcare close to home, and this will reduce appointment waiting time to allow patients to be seen quickly."

"We all provide our patients with compassionate and efficient care, and we take pride in providing education to our patients on their individual needs. We feel that Burgmeier aligns with our same vision," said Bryan Trumm, MD.

Burgmeier says he strives to make sure his patients know that he values their time and makes the most of the opportunity to address their needs and concerns. "The most important part of medicine is listening to my patient's goals and helping them find their best quality of life." Burgmeier states, "Medicine should be a partnership between provider and patient with investment from both."

Burgmeier completed his studies at Rocky Vista University, where he earned his Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies, and prior to that he obtained his Bachelor of Science here in Dubuque at Loras College.
